Before laying the stone, the subsurface must be thoroughly cleaned and prepared. Any unevenness and differences in height are leveled out, and cracks or damage are carefully repaired. If necessary, a slope can be filled in to ensure optimal drainage. After the surface has been thoroughly primed, the end profiles are attached. For additional protection and to prevent frost damage to the subsurface, a waterproof, water-bearing layer based on liquid plastic can be applied before laying if necessary.

The next step is to lay the stone carpet with a height of 10-15 mm, which varies depending on the subsurface and the stone grain. To improve the natural drainage function of the stone carpet and ensure effective water drainage, we recommend laying a drainage mat under the stone carpet. This decouples the stone carpet from the subsurface and allows water to drain away more quickly. At the same time, the growth of weeds is prevented. All of this contributes to the improved durability and cleanliness of the stone carpet. Finally, the surface can be further solidified by sealing if desired.

A stone carpet can also be constructed in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way without being completely sealed, provided the subsurface allows it.
